Stevie — named after Stevie Wonder — is a beautiful female blue tabby who was born with microphthalmia, also known as “micro eye.” This is a condition where one or both eyes do not fully develop to their normal size before birth. In Stevie’s case, her right eye did not fully develop, while her left eye developed normally although sometimes it wonders. But don’t let that fool you — Stevie runs, plays, climbs, and jumps just like the rest of the kittens. You might expect her to bump into things more often, but she actually gets around extremely well and usually knows exactly where she’s going. Microphthalmia typically does not cause pain, and in many cases, no treatment is needed. Stevie is a sweet, playful girl who doesn’t seem to realize she’s any different.
